That behaviour may no longer be appropriate to the person
you are today, and may be why you are on this webpage.
Cognitive hypnotherapy can assist children with food issues, sleeping issues, anger and behavioural issues and toileting problems.
We develop behaviours to cope with situations in the best way we know how. When we are young, however, our lack of experience and understanding can mean those coping strategies are flawed. For children things are either black or white, good or bad; they do not have the experience to put things into context.
The driving need for every child is to feel safe and loved, but even children from loving homes can misinterpret harmless situations and perceive them as threatening or frightening. As adults it's hard for us to remember how scary quite small things can seem when we are young. So daddy putting a rug over his back and pretending to be a monster – thinking that this will be a fun game – could, instead, frighten his son or daughter beyond all reason. After a cuddle and some reassurance, daddy moves on and forgets all about the incident, but this may not be true for the child.
Cognitive hypnotherapy is fantastic for kids. I can help you understand what's behind your child's behaviour and then assist with coping strategies that are appropriate to their understanding.

My son of 7 was diagnosed obese. We were doing all we could with diets and healthy food but only sweets and the like would appease his moods. It took Ali six sessions which she did at our house and we introduced her as a friend not a therapist so my son would accept her presence. She became his favourite playmate and through play and in effect becoming a seven year old herself – she has cracked it. We spent a huge amount of money on specialists and diets and in the end the answer was Ali and Iron Man. Alison has a gift and is an amazing lady. My husband and I tell everyone about her and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone with a child who has problems.
Our five-year-old son didn't seem to be able to mix and make friends in playgroup and when he started school. Alison managed to give him confidence and ways of relating to the other children.
